Nobody made a greater mistake than he who did nothing because he could do only a little....

Hamilton Internet Exchange (HIX)

The Hamilton Internet Exchange (HIX) is an Ethernet-based neutral peering point running over the Velocity Networks metropolitan network in Hamilton, New Zealand.

By peering at the Exchange you agree to provide routing information about your networks to other Exchange participants to optimise traffic flows across CityLink. For more details of this agreement see the ExchangeNET Terms and Conditions

In order to participate in HIX, you need to be attached to Velocity Networks, have a router capable of running BGP/4, and a block of IP numbers that are yours to route.

Contact Velocity Networks to arrange a connection to the relevant switches and complete the ExchangeNET Peering Point application form to get the peering set up.
